Privacy Policy

ChefAce helps you find recipes and the halal and kosher stores that carry their ingredients. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. In short: we collect what we need to run the app, we do not sell your personal information, and you can ask us to delete your data.

• Account details: your name, email address, and password.
• Profile details: your introduction, favourite chefs, and dietary preferences.
• Content you create: recipes, photos, videos, captions, comments, and tips you post to the community.
• Your saved data: favourites, collections, shopping lists, and meal plans.
• Anything you send us: feedback forms, survey replies, and support emails.

• Basic usage data, such as which pages you visit, so we can tell what is working and what is not.
• Device and browser information, such as your browser type and screen size, used to keep the app working across devices.
• Location you provide to the store finder: a city, address, or postcode you type, or your device location if you allow it. We use it only to find stores near you, and it is not stored on your profile.
• Cookies and local storage, used to keep you signed in, remember preferences such as a dismissed banner, and measure whether our advertising brings people to ChefAce.

Prime subscriptions are processed by Base44 Payments. Your card details are entered on their secure checkout and are never seen or stored by ChefAce. We keep only the plan you chose, its status, the amount charged, and a transaction reference so we can support you if something goes wrong.

• To run your account and provide the features you use.
• To personalise what you see, such as recipe and store suggestions based on your preferences.
• To power AI features, such as meal ideas from the ingredients you enter.
• To send you service emails, such as account verification, subscription receipts, and replies to your feedback.
• To keep the community safe, prevent abuse, and fix problems.

When you use an AI feature, the text you enter, such as your ingredients or a request for meal ideas, is sent to our AI provider to generate a response. Please do not enter sensitive personal information into these features.

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers that make ChefAce work:

• Recipe sources such as Spoonacular, TheMealDB and YouTube, used to bring in recipes and videos.
• Mapping and location services, used to show stores and events on a map.
• Base44 Payments, for subscription payments and refunds.
• Email, file storage and AI providers, used to deliver messages, store images you upload, and generate AI responses.
• Analytics and advertising tools, used to understand traffic and measure sign-ups from our ads.

We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety and rights of our users.

Recipes, videos, and store details often link out to other websites. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and this policy does not cover them.

We keep your information while your account is active. Email support@cheface.app to ask for a copy of your data or to have your account and its content deleted. Some records, such as payment and tax records, may be kept for longer where the law requires it.

• Ask us for access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information.
• Opt out of non-essential emails by using the unsubscribe link in them.
• Control cookies and local storage through your browser settings. Turning them off may sign you out or break some features.
• Deny the location permission and type a city or postcode instead.

ChefAce is not intended for children under 13, or under the minimum age required where you live. We do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will remove it.

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards to protect your information. No service can guarantee perfect security, so please use a strong, unique password for your account.

If we make a significant change, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, tell you by email.
